To celebrate the 24th
Anniversary of the establishment of
Universitas Terbuka (UT) on the 4th

of September 2008, UT publishes
this book entitled "Universitas

Terbuka: A Journey towards a
Leading Open and Distance
Education Institution 1984 - 2008",

specifically addressing the historical
development of UT for the past 24
years . This third 8 years cycle or

triwindu according to Javanese
mythology symbolizes the belief that
things will be working accordingly

( anamaljemawal) .

This book focuses on the
development of UT in terms of activities within operational units. UT as an

institution is seen from the points of views of operational systems and
procedures, and how units within UT implementing those defined system and
procedures. This book further focuses on addressing three areas of UT quality
