Articles presented in this book attempt to describe UT experiences in
managing change. All authors in the present book are distance education

practitioners in the process. Therefore, it is an invaluable learning resource in
which practitioners of change share their experiences in the process. The book is
a translation of the Indonesian version entitled "Perkembangan Universitas

Terbuka: Perjalanan Mencari Jatidiri Menuju PTJJ Unggu/an" that has been
published earlier. The translation of the book into English aims to show UT

strong commitment to participate in the effort to build better and more
prosperous world and make contributions to the development of knowledge and
good practice in distance education. Last but not least, we hope that this book

can be an important source of knowledge and inspiration for readers interested in
distance education.
