                                        ABSTRACT

The purpose of conducting this research is to identify the area
of built-up land and perform sustainability analysis calculations
using the Rap-River Built-Up method. The research method used
is a geographic information system using satellite Landsat 7 ETM+/
Landsat 8 OLI imagery and Rap-River Built-Up analysis to test the
sustainability of ecological, social, and economic systems. The
results of the analysis of changes in built-up land in the Martapura
river area of Banjarmasin City experienced a change of around 2,31%
from 2010 to 2022 followed by an increase in population density of
± 1,5% in a five-year period. The multidimensional analysis results of
the sustainability of the Martapura river built-up area are currently
less sustainable with an index value of 49,08. The ecological
dimension shows a less sustainable status with an index value of
31,95, the economic dimension shows a fairly sustainable status
with an index value of 52,95 and the social dimension shows a fairly
sustainable status with an index value of 62,33. The conclusion of
