resulted in a certain population with low digital literacy being left
behind and increasing inequality between different regions. Therefore,
a proper balance is very important for using technology in relation to
human life.

As we enter the “Society 5.0” era, we now emphasize utilizing
and controlling technology for a better human quality of life in harmony
with nature, the environment, and society. Science and technological
advancement can also further empower many collaborations between
stakeholders such as the government, research institutions, higher
education institutions, and industry to achieve Sustainable
Development Goal’s mission proposed by United Nations to establish
“peace and prosperity for people and planet, now and into the future”.

Distinguished colleagues and guests, based on the society 5.0
paradigm, science and technology can improve the quality of human
life without impacting the environment and social structures. The ISST
conference shows that the Faculty of Science and Technology,
Universitas Terbuka, strongly commits to contributing positively to the
implementation of Society 5.0. I am also sure that all academics on
the faculty, together with all speakers, presenters, and participants at
today's seminar, have provided good practice on how to use science
and technology to achieve Society 5.0 through various fields such as
food technology, agribusiness, biology, urban and regional planning,
mathematics, statistics, and information technology.

I encourage all of us to exchange new ideas and identify potential
collaborations to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. To all our
guests, those are the hopes that I want to convey. I pray that all of us
are blessed with good health. I would like to thank all the ISST
committees that have worked hard in organizing this event. I believe
this seminar will be a moment to exchange thoughts and develop new
ideas for all the invited keynote and plenary speakers, guests,
presenters, and participants.
