Universitas Terbuka
On this very special day, I would like to express my heartfelt
gratitude to everyone that has joined this seminar. Ladies and
gentlemen, this international seminar is our annual program, being
held as part of UNIVERSITAS TERBUKA DIES NATALIS, which is
celebrated on the 4th of September every year. In our 38th
anniversary this year, our DIES NATALIS main theme is “Advancing
Altogether in Universitas Terbuka towards a Fully Autonomous Higher
Education Institution” (“Bangkit dan Maju Bersama Dalam Tatanaan
Perguruan Tinggi berbadan Hukum”). To strengthen the theme, our
faculty, particularly the Faculty of Science and Technology, is holding
this international seminar with the topic of “Accelerating Sustainable

Distinguished colleagues and guests, the increasing number of
human populations can potentially cause various problems in the
quality of life. Global and local challenges related to uncontrolled

impact of climate change has been more and more felt recently.
Therefore, the fields of science and technology have a very important
role in providing solutions to these problems.
Almost all aspects of human life are closely related to products
