Apa itu Open Educational Resources?
UNESCO mendefinisikan Open Educational Resources sebagai: “Materi pengajaran, pembelajaran, dan penelitian dalam media apa pun, baik digital maupun lainnya, yang berada dalam domain publik atau telah dirilis berdasarkan lisensi terbuka yang mengizinkan akses, penggunaan, adaptasi, dan pendistribusian ulang tanpa biaya oleh orang lain tanpa batasan atau dengan batasan terbatas”.

Open Educational Resources (OER) adalah semua jenis materi pendidikan yang berada dalam domain publik, atau diterbitkan berdasarkan lisensi terbuka (misalnya  Creative Commons ) yang menentukan bagaimana materi tersebut dapat digunakan, digunakan kembali, diadaptasi, dibagikan, dan dimodifikasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan tertentu. Materi tersebut dapat meliputi buku teks, catatan kuliah, silabus, tugas, dan ujian.

Sumber Daya Pendidikan Terbuka (OER) mendukung praktik pembelajaran dan pengajaran yang adil dan inklusif dengan menyediakan materi kursus yang dapat digunakan, dibagikan, dan diadaptasi secara bebas.  Sumber daya terbuka mencakup berbagai macam materi yang dapat digunakan secara bebas dalam pengajaran, seperti buku teks, ceramah, video, gambar, bank pertanyaan, studi kasus, keseluruhan kursus atau modul, perangkat lunak, data, dan statistik.

Sumber pembelajaran Terbuka-Universitas Terbuka (‘SUAKA’-UT) / Open Educational Resources (OER), yaitu salah satu layanan UT dalam menyediakan materi pembelajaran yang dapat diakses secara gratis oleh masyarakat luas.
