Buku Materi Pokok (BMP) FSSI4209 Advanced writing is designed to meet the specific needs of English Education Department students in advanced levels for academic purposes. The academic purposes comprise of tasks requiring argument-making processes based on reliable sources. It covers topics such as generating writing ideas for relevant disciplines, writing important questions related to main arguments, preparing defensible arguments to support writers position, synthesizing sources from different perspectives and presenting them in an academic manner, integrating sources into own voice to show authority, using rhetoric and style to engage readers, engaging different arguments to maintain objectivity, using evaluative language for different argumentative purposes, and improve manuscript quality through iterative editing and proofreading. The course is appropriate for students at advanced levels, as well as those preparing for scientific writing tasks.
