Selain itu juga memberikan pengetahuan tentang keanekaragaman mulai dari DNA sampai tingkat kromosom, dinamika suatu alel dalam populasi, seleksi alam, proses spesiasi dan mekanisme spesiasi dengan contoh-contoh yang terkait. Mata kuliah ini juga dilengkapi dengan penjelasan tentang teknik analisis yang biasa digunakan dalam studi evolusi dan sistematika serta timbulnya bermacam-macam kelompok organisime secara lebih terperinci.
