Teori bunyi meliputi hakikat, cakupan, alat ucap, dan karakteristik bunyi bahasa Indonesia. Materi dalam bidang praktis meliputi cara bunyi bahasa Indonesia yang bersifat kardinal maupun nonkardinal, cara mengatasi penyimpangan bunyi, serta problematika fonologi pada masyarakat pengguna bahasa Indonesia.
