Melalui proses monitoring dan evaluasi, sebuah kebijakan publik diharapkan dapat terus adaptif dan responsif terhadap berbagai masalah di sektor publik, sehingga kebijakan publik yang dihasilkan menjadi tepat sasaran dalam penerapannya. Dalam mata kuliah ini, mahasiswa akan diperkenalkan kembali dengan siklus kebijakan publik, dimana di dalamnya terdapat proses monitoring dan evaluasi kebijakan publik. Lebih lanjut, dalam aplikasinya, proses monitoring dan kebijakan publik melingkupi sejumlah aspek seperti etika, kriteria, jenis kegiatan, pendekatan dalam monitoring dan evaluasi, hingga alat dan metode dalam proses monitoring dan evaluasi.
